Job Purpose:
The Western Cape Government is looking for an individual to render more complex administrative functions and duties in a service delivery environment. The successful candidate will render line administrative support to the component and must therefore be willing to work under pressure to meet strict deadlines. This position is based in Cape Town.

Minimum Requirements:
• Grade 12 certificate (or equivalent qualification) with a minimum of 2 years’ administrative experience.

Key Performance Areas:
• Administrative support to the director;
• Minute taking;
• Asset Management;
• Procurement and Supply Chain Management services;
• Financial management support;
• Provide general support services:
o Manage the resource centre;
o Compile and maintain relevant databases; o Writing of memos and letters;
o Printing and related tasks;
o Control of storeroom and stationery;
• Provide registry tasks;
o Incoming and outgoing documentation;
o Maintenance of the filing system;
o Follow-up of document flow;
o Maintenance of printing equipment;
o Disposal of archival material in terms of archive instructions;
o Keep a register.

• Other duties include:
o Monitor, maintain and update databases and budget;
o Internal and external liaison;
o Control of Storeroom & Safe.

• Knowledge of:
o Public Finance Management Act;
o All relevant legislation pertaining to document control and the functioning of a Registry; o Reporting procedures;
o Recordkeeping.
• Good communication (written and verbal) communication skills in at least two of the three official languages of the Western Cape;
• Problem solving skills
• Proven computer literacy.

R 196 278 – R 231 210 per annum (Salary level 7).

Note on remuneration:
Cost-to-employer (CTE) remuneration packages for certain occupation-specific dispensations (OSD), the middle-management service (MMS) and contract positions are inclusive of all costs related to service benefits or obligations including basic salary, 13th cheque, medical assistance, housing assistance, pension-fund contributions, etc.

MMS remuneration packages are flexible and may be individually structured as prescribed.
Where remuneration is not indicated as CTE, employees’ service benefits or obligations are funded or co-funded in terms of the applicable prescripts or collective agreements.
