Motorbike rider critical in Midrand collision
A motorbike rider was left in a critical condition earlier this evening when his bike collided with a car on Summit Road in Bluehills, Midrand. At approximately 8pm paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the motorbike in pieces next to the vehicle.
The rider was found lying several meters away from the wreckage. He was in a critical condition with multiple fractures. Paramedics stabilised him on scene and rushed him off to Sunninghill Hospital for further care.
The driver of the vehicle was treated on the scene for a possible fracture to his shoulder. He was later transported to hospital by another service on scene. It is understood that the driver of the vehicle allegedly made a u-turn which caused the motorbike to crash into the side of it.
However, the exact cause is still to be determined. Local authorities attended the scene.
