LIMPOPO: CAR ROLLED KILLING 6 INCLUDING 3 CHILDREN AND 2 INJURED
Six people were killed, including three children, and two other injured after a SUV rolled off the R36 near Mooketsi in Limpopo last night. ER24 paramedics, along with provincial services, arrived on scene and found that an SUV lay upright against a large tree.
The vehicle had sustained a large amount of damage in the collision, leaving a trail of debris from the road to the tree. On inspection, paramedics discovered numerous bodies lying around the scene that had apparently been ejected from the vehicle. On assessment, paramedics found five lifeless bodies lying near the vehicle. Three children, two girls and a boy believed to be aged between 4 and ten, and two adults were found showing now signs of life.
Unfortunately, all five patients had already succumbed to their multiple fatal injuries. Nothing more could be done for the patients and they were declared dead on scene. Three other adult patients were found on scene, one of them a critically injured woman.
Paramedics treated the patients and provided the critically injured patient with advanced life support interventions. Once treated, the critically injured patient was transported by ER24 while the two remaining patients were transported by provincial services. All the patients were transported to Kgapane Hospital for further treatment.
On arrival at hospital, the critically injured patient unfortunately succumbed to her injuries. The cause of the collision is not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
