Shop Assistant

Also  known as a Sales Assistant. Your duty is to keep customers satisfied by making sure they get what they are looking for. A Sales Assistant can work in almost any store in a shopping centre for example: Clothing store, Shoe boutique, Cell phone shop, Sports store etc…

You must be friendly, observant and good with people. A casual shop assistant will work between 27 – 40 hours a week and will get paid at an hourly rate.

Sales Representative

Also called a Rep. They sell company products and services to individuals or to other companies or large organizations. You should be passionate about the product / service you are trying to sell. It’s very hard to sell something you don’t like. As a Sales Representative you will attend training sessions and sales strategy meetings.

You must  know the products and services inside out. You must be sales orientated, target driven and a enthusiastic, ambitious and positive person. A Sales Representative gets a small basic salary with benefits and commission on what they sell. So if you’re a good Rep, you can make a lot of money.

Receptionist

A Receptionist is usually the first person you will see when entering a company or office or the first person to speak to when someone phones. Your duties as a Receptionist will be answering phone calls, take messages, send and reply emails and other basic admin like filing and taking minutes of meetings.

A Receptionist must be dress professionally, be reliable and must be able to speak well. You must also be computer literate. A good Receptionist, could work themselves up through the company. A Receptionist works office hours and gets a monthly salary.

A waiter work in restaurants, bars or coffee shop. A waiter will first be trained on-the-job and must learn the menu and dishes so that you can describe it to your customers.

Au Pair

Also known as Childminder or Baby sitter. A Childminder is someone who takes care of one or more children for a family. If you are looking children you would most likely have to bath and dress them, make food for them, keep them busy, help with homework, clean up after etc..

If you are taking care of a baby you would be changing nappies, feeding them, sterilize baby’s  bottles and may have to look after them when they are sick. If you want to be a Au Pair you must love children. You must be a friendly, gentle, caring and honest person. The more skills you have the easier you will find a job.

If you can cook, have done a first aid course and have driver’s license you won’t have any problem finding work as an Au Pair.
